With jewlery i heard you put nail hardener on it so it stays nice is that true? if true, how so?

I would not suggest nail hardener, but if you put clear nail polish on fake silver and gold it will keep it from turning your fingers green! It covers the outside so it does not come in contact with your skin. It eventually wears off and you will need to repaint it.
